In history of the industry, competition has birthed amazing titles like Sonic, Crash Bandicoot, Halo, and hundreds more. I, however, believe that exclusives are a good thing (which is why the current gen upsets me.) If a company forces competitive business, it encourages the others to do the same. But now both consoles are virtually identical, it's harder to explain away the technical necessity for exclusives.

The modest outlay for Gold is also well worth it, especially with backwards compatibility which means even if you disregard the value of online play, you still get access to four new titles per month for If there weren't exclusives, then there'd be no reason at all for multiple consoles, and getting all three of the major console companies in one room and tell them that two of them need to stop, is probably not going to go well…īut it comes from a dated exercise where it wasn't easy to make a multi-platform game consoles all had varying tech and handware specifciations. Ultimately, if I had a 360 already & didn't want any exclusive titles, I wouldn't bother upgrading…but as a standalone console purchase, I reckon the XB1 represents great value for money. I use mine for some Netflix/Stan/SBS/ABC playing, but other than that I've had a bit of trouble getting Plex app to work properly, and I don't have time to invest in fixing it ATM, so I also currently use my WDTV for more media streaming… I was pretty nonplussed with Halo 5 I make no bones about that but others have seen the positives with it. With regard to the XB1 exclusive titles, I bought mine mainly for Halo MCC, which I must say is IMHO the best value for money deal on the market…the remastered versions of 1 & 2 are pristine, 3 & 4 were quite reasonable entries (despite what the neckbeards would have you believe), and ODST as DLC for $6.65 was money well spent.
#PHANTOM DUST PC NEOGAF UPGRADE#
Let's PRAY that xbox adds a steam deck xbox app or adds it to cloud gaming.I don't mind mine, purely as a console I wouldn't really consider it too much of an upgrade over the 360 (which IMHO still has some legs left in it as a fun console with the benefit of a huge catalogue of available games)…that said, backwards compatibility has been great, lots of my 360 titles were instantly available too, so my repertoire of immediately playable games was great. I'm not saying there's no hope since other people could look for an alternative, but I have very limited knowledge and tried my best to run it on deck.
#PHANTOM DUST PC NEOGAF DOWNLOAD#
I read some complicated comments on a reddit thread explaining why, but to TLDR, the Xbox app requires a downloader.exe and Proton cannot handle to download a application through it's "wine". I also looked into this method previously to play minecraft bedrock, but The Xbox app genuinely won't work. Im not entirely sure what is the issue (since I don't really know how emulators work), but if I had to guess, the best way to play would be through the IXbox App.

So I went to my windows pc and converted the. I then tried CXBXR, a different original xbox emulator, and it required. I thought I had the wrong bios but nope, my other games opened fine. I attempted to run Phantom Dust on the XEMU emulator through emudeck, but it would not open or crash every time (in desktop and gaming mode). So I have tried this multiple times on the deck and I haven't been able to make it work.
